Hands Down, Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
2 C all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 C butter, melted
1 C packed light brown sugar
1/2 C white granulated sugar
1 T vanilla extract
1 egg yolk
2 C semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 C chopped walnuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 325. Grease baking sheet or line with parchment.
Sift together flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
Cream together melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended.
Add the vanilla and eggs.
Slowly incorporate dry ingredients until mixed. Fold in chocolate chips and optional walnuts by hand.
Using a small ice cream scoop, drop cookie dough 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
Cook for exactly 15 minutes- not a minute longer to ensure that highly sought after chewy texture.
Transfer to wire racks and let cool completely.
